My Story…

My Story… I’m walking in honor of my cousin, Opal Lee—“The Grandmother of Juneteenth.” At 98 years young, her life’s work and unshakable commitment to freedom led to Juneteenth becoming a national holiday. This walk is my way of giving Cousin Opal her flowers while she’s still here to receive them. Every step is a thank you. Every registration is a symbol of our love, pride, and legacy.
